Chura Liya Hai Tum Ne Jo Dil Ko [1973]

This was a smash hit in 1973 as it had a very catchy western tune for an Indian song, and was to be credited as Asha Bhosle's signature tune.

This song was launched by the seventies film Yaadon Ki Baaraat which I saw with my father and mother and sisters straight after it was released at the Coliseum Cinema on Dudley Road, Wolverhampton in 1973.

The Coliseum Cinema was a regular event for Asians on a weekend, in the days when the cinema was the only connection back to the eastern world, besides the odd hourly current affairs/educational programme hosted by BBC on an early Sunday morning.

Gone are those days, but those memories last forever.
